Governors

A Message from our Governors

The Governors at Hengoed Primary School are extremely proud of the standard of both the teaching attributes and the caring and understanding approach that all staff utilise in ensuring every child receives the very best attention, whatever their individual needs. Encouragement and Empathy result in the confidence and respect that is evident when talking to the children and assessing their attitudes to their learning and experiences during their school day.

My visits to school are always interesting and informative. Children are keen to share their own thoughts and feelings, and the calm and pleasant atmosphere and abundant energy that works in tandem with the desire to learn and explore new opportunities results in an environment that provides them the best overall learning experience

Judith Climer. Vice Chair of Governors.

Although the Governing Body is ultimately responsible for the whole school and controls the strategic direction the School takes, it is not directly involved in the day-to-day management, which is the responsibility of the Headteacher.

Our aim as a Governing Body is to use our wide range of expertise and skills to support and challenge the School to ensure that every pupil reaches their full potential whilst they are at Hengoed Primary School.

Governors meet regularly to monitor finance, strategic development, health and safety and pupils and personnel within the school. All aspects of the school’s work are important to us and are underpinned by our core values. Learning together to be our best in order for our children become ambitious capable learners, ethical informed citizens, healthy confident individuals and enterprising creative contributors. All of this is achieved within a healthy and safe environment.
